Kick counts aren't just a "nice idea," they’re a powerful, proven tool to protect your baby during the third trimester (yes, even in labor!). Your baby's movements are like their way of waving, "Hey, I'm okay!" and when that changes, it’s your cue to take action.

💡 Here’s how kick counts work and why they matter:
🔹 Start at the same time each day when baby is typically active
🔹 Lie on your side or sit quietly and time how long it takes to feel 10 movements
🔹 10 kicks in 2 hours or less is usually a healthy sign
🔹 Call your provider if you notice a decrease or sudden change in movement

👶 Your baby should stay active through the entire third trimester, including labor.
📉 Changes in fetal movement can be the first sign something’s off.
📈 Research shows monitoring movements can reduce the risk of stillbirth.

Most due dates are calculated using Naegele’s Rule—counting 280 days from the first day of your last period. But this assumes a perfect 28-day cycle and ovulation on day 14, which isn’t true for everyone.

Every pregnancy is unique, and your baby’s timing will be too.
